Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation Pillow

The Particle Zoo

$26.99

Now you can hug remnants of the early universe with the CMBR PILLOW.

Discovered inadvertently by two Bell Laboratories astronomers in 1964, the CMBR is the residual radiation from the Big Bang that fills the universe in all directions. The variations in the pattern correspond to density variations which formed galaxies and were first detected by NASA's COBE (Cosmic Background Explorer). Only visible in the microwave region of the radio spectrum, the CMBR is 2.7 degrees Kelvin and comprises a portion of the static you see when you turn on an untuned television.

Approximately 10 oz (283 gm); 20 inches (51 cm) diameter.

For ages 5 and up as it contains glued-on/small parts.
